The Second Star to the Right

So, I know it's been too long since I've posted! But I've been so busy working and not getting enough sleep. Today I am enjoying the final day of my always-too-short weekend, and I'm catching up!

I completed my training Saturday with a 96% on my final assessment and I've been working on my own since then.  Every day is such a new experience!  Like, the other evening, I talked to a lady from Ireland for an hour while her daughters rode Rockin Roller Coaster.  She has come to WDW every year for nearly twenty years (and I'm pretty sure I had her convinced that her daughter needed to do this program).
Then the next day, I spent twenty minutes talking to a little girl from Texas; she was about nine years old and wasn't ready to ride her first upside down roller coaster, so her parents went to ride and she hung out with me and told me all about the things she's done and princesses she's met on her vacation with us.

I still can't believe how awesome my job is; I get to pass under the Disney arch every day going to work, I get called "princess" by the parking gate ladies, and I meet so many interesting people from all walks of life (and the major plus side is, I'm not cleaning out fitting rooms and folding shirts all day and all hours of the night).

But by far the best part is, Disney never seems to lose its magic, no matter how many hours I put in making that magic happen (and believe me... it's a lot).

It's not all work, though.  Sunday night, we had a girls night and hopped on the bus for Downtown Disney when I got off work.  CPs get into the House of Blues free on Sundays, so we popped inside for a brief second to snap some pictures before we decided that was not the place for us.

So we just spent the night walking around and listening to live bands play in the streets and going in all the shops, planning out all the places we want to come back and eat at when we have a few more paychecks.

I'm also super lucky to have been placed with the best roommates I could have asked for.  We are always doing something every chance we get, even if it's just rearranging the living room sixty times in one afternoon.

Last week, Sasha and I had the day off and we went to Animal Kingdom, since I had never been. Plus we needed to kill a few hours before Allison got off work.  We definitely did not plan enough time to get around the park.  We did get to ride Everest though, as well as Dinosaur, and we got to see Finding Nemo the Musical and It's Tough to be a Bug, which is in the theatre located in the Tree of Life.

Mt. Everest
The Tree of Life
The story is: each animal that is represented on the tree gathered below it to drink the water and then they were forever imprinted on to the tree.
Even going down into the theatre, animals still line the walls that are the "roots" of the tree.

After AK, Sasha and I drove to Disney University to pick up Allison from training... sort of. Actually we just got lost driving around the Magic Kingdom, but we did end up at the Wedding Pavilion and the Grand Floridian.. two of my favorite places in all of the Walt Disney World Resort, and I got really good at making U-Turns.  Eventually we ended up at Disney University, and then we parked just down the road at the Contemporary Resort.

From the Contemporary we resort hopped on the monorail, around to Magic Kingdom

Behind us you can see Cinderella's castle and the
white building behind my head is Space Mountain.
And look at that sky!

We spent the rest of our evening at MK (which they somehow managed to decorate for Halloween in two days time), had dinner in Tomorrowland and rode all the rides we had time for, and watched the Wishes fireworks show while riding the Big Thunder Mountain roller coaster, which is one of the coolest things I have ever experienced.

It's going to be a very Mickey

If you've seen WIshes in front of the castle a few
times, it's worth it to watch it from the back of
the park too.

After a few more days of work, I did finally get my weekend.  Allison and I went shopping yesterday morning and then had lunch at Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney; pretty sure that's my new favorite restaurant. Then last night Allison, Mikey, and I went and explored Lake Buena Vista and went back to Downtown Disney, where we mostly sat inside because a storm decided to come through. But we did get to see a pretty sweet double rainbow that only Mikey could seem to get a good picture of.

Okay, I promise I'll update more often.

And I find myself doing the Disney Point all the time now.. I think my pointer and middle fingers may actually be permanently attached to one another.
